Strategic Goal Setting Series:

Week 1 – Focus & Commit: “I’m doing all the things… so why do I feel stuck?”

Hello again,đź‘‹

Ever feel like you’re juggling 10 things at once… and still making no real progress?

That was me. Last Month... Five projects in the air. 2 coaching clients, launching a read-along and a course... A colour coded outlook calendar that made me look productive. But the truth? I was exhausted and missing my goals.

I was doing everything… and not at all sure any more what really mattered.

Until I listened to the new book on brand building by Rory an AJ Vaden "Wealthy and Well Known" asked myself this:

What if I just focused on one thing — and nailed it?

This Week’s Superpower: 🎯 Focus & Commit

If you only remember one idea from this series, let it be this:

Focus isn’t about doing less. It’s about doing what matters — on purpose.

In the OKR model (Objectives & Key Results), this means choosing a bold, meaningful objective — and then aligning all your energy, time and action around it.

Sounds obvious, right?

And yet, most business owners I meet are stuck in overwhelm — not because they’re lazy, but because they’re trying to do too much with too little clarity.

How I Found My Focus Again (Story Time)

A few months back, I realised my calendar was full but my business felt stalled. I was ticking boxes, but nothing felt exciting — or effective.

So I did something radical.

I opened a blank page and wrote down:

  1. What is the real outcome I want this quarter?
  2. If I could only do one thing to move toward it… what would it be?
  3. What am I doing that’s actually noise, not progress?

And then I cut.

Hard.

I paused a launch; I cancelled an in-person event; took all the read-alongs off the calendar. I stopped fiddling with my brand colours.

Instead, I committed to one bold goal: launching a low-cost-fast-build-done-for-you website product. Just sharper execution.

Why that? Because that is what was needed for the business, for now.

Your Turn: The Focus Fix

This week, try this:

  1. Write down 3 things you want to achieve in the next 90 days.
  2. Choose one. Just one.(seriously... there can be only one!)
  3. Ask: What is the next obvious step to move this forward?
  4. Do it. No multitasking. No overthinking.

Let the rest wait.

This Week’s Challenge

Hit reply and tell me: What are YOU committing to this quarter? (Yes, this really is my inbox, and I read every single email).

No fluff. No list of 12 things. Just one powerful focus area.

Let’s do this — together. Mine is "On Point Sites"

To purposeful progress,
Anne

P.S. Next week is all about ALIGNMENT — how to get your team (or even your VA) pulling in the same direction, without micromanaging. It’s a game-changer.

Quick gut check... “This quarter, I’m going to simplify...” “This year, we’re getting serious about sales.” “I just want to feel less reactive and more… on purpose.” "We need to postpone the strategy session, I have to focus in this client deliverable." Sound familiar? You set the goal — and then life happens. Inbox. Firefighting. Other people’s priorities. And that goal? It quietly drifts to the edges of your calendar. Most goal setting fails. But not because you’re lazy. It fails because...

Have you ever felt like this: “I’m showing up everywhere,” - “I’m posting, emailing, running ads… but it’s like I’m invisible. No one’s paying attention.” This is me... Yesterday. People often stop me and tell me they love my content and my feed full of tips. You know, my emails were consistent. My product is solid. But something is missing. I know this, because the sales are not pouring in this time round... When I look at my social medial posting for my last course that I ran - it all...

People gather amidst a vibrant array of balloons.

I once worked with a lady who used to say: "If you give people options, they will choose." In my years of product and service design I have found this to be absolutely true. And the more choice you give the more chaos you introduce into the business. Like the I.T. service provider who has tailored packages to suit each and every different kind of customer (probably relates to the talent business owner profile). All of a sudden finds the business having to operate âś… 12 different service...
